HWY41
Highway 41 is a group of veteran bluegrass musicians that have been playing for a number of years. Having played together in different bands, they finally decided to start their own partnership, and see just how it would work out. Looks like they made the right move. They currently work on their first album which should be released around the first of 2010.
Mark Horn - Born in Kissimmee Florida now living in Bradenton, Florida.
Mark was exposed to bluegrass very early in life. When he was about 5 years old he started out playing guitar and singing with the family band.
Mark has played in numerous Florida based bands and sings lead vocals and plays mandolin.
Robert Feathers he has won several flat-picking championships starting with his first at the 1987 Oklahoma State Flat-picking competition, in 2004 at the Florida Old-time Flat-picking Championship, Robert placed 2nd, at the same contest in 2006, came in 1st. Robert also placed in the top five at The Winfield Kansas Championships. Robert has played with numerous notable bluegrass legends during his career.
J.R. Davis - is a veteran musician whose solid flat top picking combined with
soaring tenor vocals make him essential to the sound of the band. Another
native from Florida who makes his home in Englewood. J.R. can play a
multitude of instruments, and has transitioned to bluegrass from a long
professional career in country music.
Donnie Harvey - Donnie has been playing banjo since the age of 9. He played
with such greats as Larry Rice and Chubby Wise as a teenager, and has
performed with some of the best bluegrass bands in Florida. Donnie currently
lives in Brandon, Florida.
Jack Woodrough - From Anderson, Indiana originally, Jack is a veteran
bluegrass musician who had his own family band for many years in Indian.
Jack plays bass, fiddle, and guitar for Highway 41. Jack currently lives in
Parrish, Florida.
